DNA Bank versus DNA Testing

  • by

Did you know that banking blood in the DNA bank and testing DNA are not the same thing? And that blood in the DNA bank is not tested unless you, the owner, order and pay for that test?

You can order tests on blood in the DNA bank at any time, but they do have to be ordered to be done. If your dog’s blood has been tested, you will receive those test results from the University of Missouri. So if you have not gotten test results stating a terrier is normal for something, please do not assume that it has been tested and is normal.

If you have questions about this, please message any one of the Board members. Your JRTRF Board of Directors are Debbie Johnson, Erin Schwartzkopf, Dawn Weiss – Kelley, and Cheryl Costello.
